The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (:SPY) has 846,000 options traded, with 457,000 puts. Next up are the CBOE Volatility Index (:VIX) options at 369,000, led by 272,000 calls.
The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 218,000 contracts changing hands, with 133,000 puts. Just behind are the S&P 500 Index (:SPX) options at 214,000, with a put/call ratio of 2 to 1.
The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Note (VXX) has 158,000 options traded, with calls outpacing puts by 2 to 1. Following closely are the PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) options at 157,000, with puts slightly outpacing calls.
