The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (:SPY) has 868,000 contracts traded, with 523,000 puts. Next up are the CBOE Volatility Index (:VIX) options at 348,000, with calls outpacing puts by 2 to 1 Following are the S&P 500 Index (:SPX) options at 206,000, with puts slightly outpacing calls.
The PowerShares QQQ Trust (:QQQ) has seen 198,000 contracts turn over, with 113,000 calls. The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Note (VXX) has 111,000 contracts changing hands, with 70,000 calls.
Close behind is the iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) with volume of 106,000, led by 75,000 puts. The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) has 82,000 options traded, with 54,000 puts.
