Global mobile ad spending jumped 105.8% in '12, according to eMarketer, but that pace might be a peak, with less than 62% growth expected this year. The firm said advertisers spent $8.41 bil on mobile ads in '12, up from $4.08 bil in '11, topping eMarketer's Aug. forecast of $6.43 bil in mobile ad spending. In '16, the market tracker forecasts global mobile ad spending of nearly $37 bil. The U.S. outpaced all regions in '12 with mobile ad spending growth of 220% vs. 138% for China and 95% for Western Europe.
