Monster Offers CEO Wayne Irving Chosen to Speak at Annual ‘The App Summit’ Conference
Mr. Irving to share his insights on the use of “Apps for a Global Good” at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas May 21, 2013
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA - Today, Monster Offers, a leading Daily Deals aggregator/ analystics provider, as well as mobile app developer and forward-thinking mobile marketer, announces that its CEO, Wayne Irving II, has been chosen to speak at this year’s The App Summit event, held during and with CTIA 2013 at the Sands Hotel on May 21, 2013. The App Summit is an annual, international conference focusing on issues relevant and related to the future of multi-platform apps for consumer and enterprise.
Wayne has been invited to speak and present on the specific topic of “Apps for a Global Good.”
Mr. Irving is, himself, quite familiar with the subject of working for the global good. In 2010, he made headlines as one of the co-founders of Text Kills®, an outreach organization whose stated mission was (and remains)saving lives through raising public awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and cyber-bullying. Since then, Wayne and his Text Kills team have traversed and crossed the country twice in the highly visible Text Kills Tour Bus, spreading their message of driver safety through education and demonstration, as well as pushing for stricter anti-texting and safe driving legislation.
In addition, Wayne is also the innovator of many child, teen, senior, and family safety-enhancing apps, including Drive Reply®, Word Bully™, Guards Up! ™, Latchkey Kid™, and TellMyGeo™. While these apps differ in their respective functionalities and target markets, they were all conceived from Irving’s desire to make the world a better, more convenient and comfortable, and ultimately safer, place, even if this sometimes means using technology, itself, to thwart or turn back the often unanticipated, negative side effects created by what we have come to know all too well as “technology overload”.
The prestigious 'The App Summit' serves as a forum for and melting pot of the finest minds and greatest achievers in the mobile Smartphone, Smart Device, and Smart TV space. It is also known as the Official Partner of CTIA 2013, one of the biggest mobile events in the world, showcasing the leaders, ideas, and experiences that are transforming the dynamic mobile communications industry. In recognition of his status as a forward-thinking, outside- the-box innovator in the mobile application technology space, Irving has been chosen to share his insights and knowledge on the industry and where he believes its future is heading, paying particular attention to how apps can be utilized for the greater good of society as a whole.
Without question, Irving's passion for using app technologies to encourage and enhance public welfare and safety stems from his personal life. When his daughter had first asked him to sign her driver’s permit at the age of fifteen, he was initially hesitant because she was a self-proclaimed "texting addict". Worried that she might be tempted to text behind the wheel and risk getting into an accident, he thought that it would be great if there was a way for parents to use technology to prevent their children from texting while driving (TWD). With this in mind, Irving developed Drive Reply®, one of the first, and most robust, Smartphone technologies currently on the market that addresses the national problem of TWD. With thousands of people dying each year as a result of TWD, Irving felt the compelling need to address the problem head on, while at the same time indulging his entrepreneurial spirit and safeguarding his family.
Following the introduction of Drive Reply®, Irving, working through the companies he has founded and/or led, including both Monster Offers and Iconosys, Inc., also based in Laguna Niguel, California, has helped to create a catalog of impactful , widely recognized, and highly publicized safety-oriented Smartphone technologies. These include Trick or Tracker®, a bi-directional pairing locator app, which allows parents and children to know each other's whereabouts via GPS and other proprietary means at all times and has even been featured on Saturday Night Live, as well as Tell My Geo™, which helps caretakers to better monitor their family members or patients suffering from near-Alzheimer’s or dementia, and was recently featured in Florida’s Hospital News and the Wall Street Journal, among other media outlets.
Irving's ambitious plans for Monster Offers, which continues to strive to make mobile commerce and marketing more consumer friendly and more lifestyle and safety enhancing, is indeed an outgrowth of his passion for designing apps that serve the greater societal good.
