Xbox One can be accessed by any Windows 10 PC or tablet

At its recent Windows 10 live event, Microsoft (MSFT) announced that game players can now stream Xbox One exclusive games to any Windows 10 PC and tablet. Apart from Microsoft’s Xbox One, Sony (SNE) and Nintendo (NTDOY) are the leading players in the gaming space.

If Microsoft Xbox One is successful, it will benefit Microsoft investors. It will also benefit ETFs like the Powershares QQQ Trust ETF (QQQ) and the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK). These ETFs have 8% and 9.61% exposure to Microsoft, respectively.

The above chart shows the unified interface between Windows PC, Windows Phone, and Xbox One.

How Xbox One can be streamed on any Windows 10 device

The entire process of streaming will be done through a Wi-Fi connection that’s associated with players’ Microsoft devices powered by Windows 10. Players will use the Xbox One pad to control the gameplay streamed over Wi-Fi. However, before being able to stream Xbox One games to a PC, players will have to set up the connection between their devices. This only has to be done once.

The next time streaming is done, players aren’t required to make any additional settings. As soon as the connection between the two devices is set, players can access the Xbox One game on their Windows 10 PC through the special Xbox application announced today.

Features for Windows 10 Xbox app

The Windows 10 Xbox app allows its users to access their friends list, messages, and news feed. It also allows players to stream their installed Xbox One games right to their Windows 10 PC or tablet. Windows 10 will have a Game DVR feature, similar to the Xbox One, so that gameplay can be recorded and shared on social networks.
