NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
A new, open educational resources (OER) solution for K-12 classrooms will be on board the colorful iSchool Initiative bus when it takes to the road for its second annual Digital Learning Revolution (DLR) Tour this month. Under a new partnership agreement, the Net Texts content management solution for free OER will be featured in the iSchool Initiative’s DLR mobile tour as it travels to schools, conferences, and communities to showcase its exciting vision of the 21st century mobile learning classroom.
The Net Texts system is a free, web-based solution that provides teachers access to a vast library of innovative, curated collections of high quality content, which they can then manage and combine with their own resources to create, publish and deliver lessons directly to students’ iPads, Android tablets, or computers. More than just a content management system, Net Texts is a powerful teaching and learning tool that helps schools maximize their investments in tablets and 1:1 computing initiatives, while improving instruction and learning outcomes with up-to-date educational resources.
iSchool Initiative is a student-led, non-profit organization dedicated to revolutionizing the education system through a grassroots movement advocating for contemporary technology integration. Through comprehensive, customized training for teachers, administrators, and even students, iSchool Initiative gives educators a new perspective about utilizing mobile technology to enhance learning for all.
“By adding Net Texts to its DLR Tour, iSchool Initiative is showing educators and students how to engage, manage, and deliver free, open educational resources and thus realize the full potential of mobile learning,” said Net Texts CEO Mike Messner. “We fully support iSchool Initiative’s mission to inspire and empower educators to transform learning, and are pleased to join them and other leading solutions on this year’s tour.”
“Throughout our journey of reforming education, managing and delivering content with technology has been a hot topic,” said iSchool Initiative founder Travis Allen. “Net Texts was the first real solution we found that solved this issue, and it was a must-have to demonstrate on our DLR Tour bus.”
Manned by student trainers, the 38-foot DLR Tour bus will travel across the country for the next six months to provide schools with inspiring demonstrations, customized workshops, and training on ways to implement cutting edge technology in today’s classrooms. To date, the DLR Tour has reached hundreds of schools in 26 states, directly inspiring more than 200,000 educators and students to become lifelong digital learners.
