LOTS OF PLANES: Boeing Co. is predicting worldwide demand for 34,000 new passenger planes over the next 20 years. It'll have to compete with Airbus and others for those sales.
WHERE? Asia. Boeing believes half of all airline traffic will touch that region by 2031.
WHY: Many of those new planes will replace old ones that will be retired, while others will fill demand for growth. Boeing believes the world's fleet will double in size from almost 20,000 today.
