STALLING: Major stock indexes edged lower, pushing the Dow Jones industrial average lower for the first day in five. After strong gains for stocks this year, investors appear wary of pushing the market much higher for now.
BEST BUY BLUES: Electronics retailer Best Buy slumped after warning that the company is likely to face a tough holiday shopping season that could squeeze its fourth-quarter profit. The company's stock slumped 11 percent Tuesday, but it's still the second-best performer in the Standard & Poor's 500 this year.
IN THE CAN: Campbell Soup slumped after the company said that sales of soups and V8 beverages fell.
