The Supreme Court is expected to announce its verdict Thursday on President Barack Obama's health care law. There are several possible outcomes.
OUTCOME ONE: If the Supreme Court upholds the Affordable Care Act, the legal argument would be settled but the political battle would go on as the nation still faces rising health care costs.
OUTCOME TWO: If the court strikes down the entire law, polls suggest many people would applaud. Still, high costs, widespread waste and tens of millions of people without health insurance would remain.
OUTCOME THREE: If the court strikes down the mandate but leaves the rest of the law in place, studies suggest premiums in the individual health insurance market would jump by 10 to 30 percent.
