SapientNitro, part of Sapient (SAPE), announced today that Nigel Vaz, Senior Vice President and European Managing Director, has been inducted into the British Interactive Media Association’s ‘Digital Hall of Fame’ – a select group of just 25 creative and technical pioneers honoured for their lifetime contribution to the digital industry.
In a ceremony on July 24th 2013 at the prestigious British Academy of Film & Television Arts in London, Vaz became a BIMA ‘Digital Hall of Fame’ inductee. He is one of five inductees this year, and joins industry luminaries including Apple’s Sir Jonathan Ive, Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, actor Stephen Fry and acclaimed computer scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

The 25 members of BIMA’s ‘Digital Hall of Fame’ span technologists, designers, businesspeople, journalists and social entrepreneurs. Vaz becomes one of only five inductees in the history of the award to be a global agency leader – alongside Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy Group UK; Ajaz Ahmed, Founder and CEO of AKQA; Luke Taylor, global CEO of LBi; and Justin Cooke, UK CEO of POSSIBLE. Of these, Vaz is the only leader of a global independent agency.
