Nordstrom Launches Nordstromrack.com

In an attempt to entice more customers with a seamless shopping experience, Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) launched a new mobile app and an online site titled nordstromrack.com. This latest addition was made on the company’s common platform with its wholly-owned subsidiary, HauteLook, which was acquired in 2011.

The website will facilitate integrated shopping for customers with buying options for both Nordstrom Rack products including clothes, footwear and accessories, and HauteLook’s limited-inventory and limited-time flash sale events. Hence, with a single log-in, customers will be able to gain access two different sites.

The site will also offer 30–70% discounts on Nordstrom Rack products. Moreover, it will have various add-on features like the facility of free shipping for a bill exceeding $100 and an option of returning products within 90 days.

HauteLook is a leader in the online private sale channel, offering limited-time sale events on the world's top fashion and lifestyle brands. Members can avail discounts as high as 50% to 75% on top brands for women, men, kids, home, beauty, travel and local services.

Nordstrom Rack, on the other hand is the off-price retail segment of the company, which caters to stylish and trend-savvy customers. It stocks a broad range of fashionable apparel, footwear and other accessories at discounted prices. The company has already been expanding its Rack stores in full swing as is evident from the series of store openings since the beginning of fiscal 2013.

This latest seamless mobile and internet experience will bring together two profitable businesses of the company under a single roof and will enrich customers’ experiences by providing them solid offerings at attractive prices. The latest website launch and continuous store openings signify Nordstrom’s commitment to strengthen the retail network to drive top-line growth.

This Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company currently operates 270 outlets across 36 states, with 150 Nordstrom Racks, 117 full-line stores, 2 Jeffrey boutiques and 1 clearance outlet.

Other better-ranked stocks in the retail sector include Bon-Ton Stores Inc. (BONT) and Rite Aid Corp. (RAD), both holding a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) and Best Buy Co., Inc. (BBY), carrying a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
