DENVER, June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northstar Commercial Partners today announced a $13.5 million acquisition of Cherry Creek Place I in Aurora, Colorado. When combined with previous ownership of Cherry Creek Place II, the two buildings represent more than 400,000 square-feet of prime commercial real estate in Aurora, the third largest city in the state.
It is the fourth major transaction in the past six months for Northstar, which specializes in acquiring vacant commercial real estate, and placing those properties into productivity for economic development, job creation and community enrichment. For details, see www.northstarcp.com.
An interview of Watson by 21st Century Television's guest host, Donald Trump, Jr. will air this weekend. The show, to air on Fox Business Network and Bloomberg Television as paid programming, will detail Northstar's unique approach to finding and creating value in the commercial real estate sector.
"I prefer buying vacant because I understand the downside: it is vacant," said Watson during the interview. "And until such time as we put it back into productivity, it's going to remain that way. So we acquire these assets at usually 50 percent or less of replacement cost. And we invest in them."
Watson went on to say that Northstar looks beyond what the asset is currently to "what it can be. And after putting it back into productivity, we create jobs, by having companies locate in those buildings and creating opportunities for the communities that they're in."
The show is scheduled to air 4:30 p.m. (EST) Saturday, June 7 on Fox Business Network (as pd. prog) and 6:30 p.m. (EST) Sunday, June 8 on Bloomberg Television (as pd. prog). Check local listings for airtimes. The video is also available on 21st Century Television's YouTube channel, with the title, "Capitalizing on Real Estate Investment Opportunities - Northstar Commercial Partners," at http://youtu.be/3EC1Rt47akA.
"What Brian Watson and his company are doing brings profit to investors and jobs to communities that need them," said J.L. Haber, Vice President of Programming for 21st Century Television. "We're always happy to help spread the news of companies working to achieve not only for themselves and their employees, but for the communities they serve."
