Novartis faces charges in Japan over data manipulation, Financial Times says

Novartis is facing criminal charges in Japan over allegations it failed to adequately oversee a former employee who allegedly manipulated clinical data, reports the Financial Times. Although the Japanese unit has yet to be officially informed, Novartis said it understands the Tokyo district prosecutor will proceed with charges against a former employee and it expects the unit to be charged. The company said it would review the charges once it received official notification and co-operate with authorities.
