Chrysler's November sales rise 16 percent, led by new Jeep Cherokee small SUV

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Chrysler Group LLC said Tuesday that its November U.S. sales rose 16 percent, led by the all-new Jeep Cherokee small crossover SUV.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Auburn Hills, Mich.-based automaker said it sold 142,275 cars and trucks last month, up from 122,565 a year ago.

TOP SELLERS: Ram pickup sales were up 22 percent to 29,635. Jeep Grand Cherokee sales rose 9 percent to 14,798.

HOT MODELS: Chrysler sold 10,169 Cherokees in its first full month on the market. That's high for a new model. Dodge Durango SUV sales were up 36 percent to 5,581.
