Obama nominates widely backed professor to become NRC head, Washington Post says

President Obama yesterday nominated George Mason University environmental science professor Allison Macfarlane as the next chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, according to The Washington Post. Macfarlane received backing from both nuclear industry groups and the Union of Concerned Scientists, the newspaper noted.
