Obama visiting US plant to tout manufacturing

Obama to discuss manufacturing policies in Wisconsin before West Coast trip

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is kicking off a three-day trip with a stop in Milwaukee, where he will discuss efforts to help manufacturers bring jobs back to the U.S.

Obama is visiting Master Lock, a padlock manufacturer that the president cited during his State of the Union address. The company has brought about 100 jobs back to the United States from China since mid-2010 in response to higher labor and logistical costs in Asia.

Obama has promoted tax incentives for manufacturers that bring back jobs located overseas.

Most of the trip will be devoted to fundraising. The president is holding eight fundraisers for his re-election campaign in the Los Angeles area, San Francisco and Seattle.
