Ocera Therapeutics raises $28M in a private placement

Ocera will sell units consisting of an aggregate of 3,940,887 shares of its common stock and warrants to purchase up to 788,177 additional shares of common stock. Each unit, consisting of one share of common stock and a warrant to purchase 0.2 of a share of common stock, will be sold for a purchase price of $7.11. The warrants will be exercisable at $7.66 per share. The financing was led by new investors Vivo Capital and Venrock with additional participation from institutional investors Deerfield, Great Point Partners LLC, funds managed by QVT Financial LP, RA Capital Management, InterWest Partners and Three Arch Opportunity Fund.
