The price of oil climbed to near $89 per barrel Wednesday after a surprising drop in U.S. crude supplies.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Benchmark crude rose by 85 cents to end the day at $88.91 per barrel.
Gasoline rose by 5.99 cents to finish at $2.8342 per gallon.
Heating oil added 1.08 cents to end at $2.8588 per gallon.
Natural gas fell by 3.8 cents to finish at $3.1710 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange in London:
Brent crude rose $1.04 to end the day at $105.96 a barrel.
