Seadrill (SDRL) had the highest implied volatility figures among all of the OFS (oilfield services) companies as of May 31, 2016. Its implied volatility was 133.63. Seadrill’s 15-day average implied volatility was 133.72. Its current volatility is about 1.4% more than its 15-day average.

Which OFS stocks have the highest implied volatility?

On May 31, Tidewater (TDW), Weatherford International (WFT), CARBO Ceramics (CRR), and Noble (NE) had implied volatilities of 119.28, 79.13, 75.65, and 65.01, respectively. The current implied volatilities of Weatherford International, CARBO Ceramics, and Noble were 8.2%, 8.1%, and 5.2% less than their respective 15-day averages. Tidewater’s current implied volatility is 5.6% more than its 15-day average.

OFS stocks with low implied volatility

Schlumberger (SLB) had the lowest implied volatility figures among all of the OFS companies. Schlumberger’s implied volatility was 22.42 on May 31, 2016. Its 15-day average implied volatility was 24.13. On May 31, its implied volatility was 7.1% less than its 15-day average.

Halliburton (HAL), FMC Technologies (FTI), Core Laboratories NV (CLB), and Baker Hughes (BHI) had implied volatilities of 27.83, 33.27, 34.75, and 34.15, respectively, on May 31, 2016. The implied volatilities for these stocks were 7.4%, 2.6%, 3.4%, and 7.6% less than their 15-day averages, respectively.
