NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 30, 2014) - Open School EduTech Corporation announces its strategic partnership with Nsoma for their ePortfolio product. The product is an online portfolio with capabilities far beyond educational portfolio products currently in the market.
Steve Zimmerman, Director of the Open School Project and co-creator of the ePortfolio began his career in education. Steve has founded two schools in Queens, NY and was an elementary school teacher in the inner city of Chicago during the Model Cities Program years. He later worked in educational publishing, first as a science editor and later as principal of BookLinks, a company that provides ESL, bilingual and design services for US school publishers.
"I created this ePortfolio product because we saw the need for a tool that would broaden the scope of measurements beyond individual standards as a reflection of student growth and learning," states Steve Zimmerman. "And recently, our ePortfolio product has been recognized by the NYC Department of Education's iZone as a partner for the Short-Cycle Evaluation Challenge (SCEC) this Fall."
"Having reviewed a number of ePortfolio products throughout my career in education," states Kathy Walter, CEO of Nsoma, "Open School's ePortfolio focused on the teacher-student interaction and has a strong desire to build a product that is the next generation ePortfolio. A tool that teachers and students can track work that is not just worksheets online, but true project-based learning that starts to build both student and teacher portfolios with meaningful feedback from each."
The product is set to launch at the end of July and there will be additional information available soon.
