Pa. governor leads trade mission to Brazil, Chile

Pa. governor leads 10-day trade mission to Brazil, Chile, along with wife, dozens of others

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is leaving this weekend on his second international trade mission.

He's headed to Brazil and Chile with his wife and more than 50 members of the business, tourism and academic communities, as well as two Philadelphia Regional Port Authority officials.

Also traveling are two of Corbett's secretaries, the chairmen of the Public Utility Commission and Liquor Control Board, 11 aides and three Pennsylvania State Police troopers.

It'll last 10 days and an organizer, Team Pennsylvania Foundation, says it's projected to cost just under $350,000.

Private-sector participants paid at least $78,000 of that. The Team Pennsylvania Foundation, which receives taxpayer money through grants and contracts, says it paid the rest of the travel costs through private money or corporate sponsorships.

Corbett went to France and Germany last year.
