BELLPORT, N.Y. (AP) -- Perfume and fragrance retailer Perfumania Holdings Inc. said Thursday that its revenue at stores open at least a year slipped 1.4 percent in April.
This figure is a key gauge of a retailer's health because it excludes results from stores recently opened or closed. Perfumania said that its results also exclude stores that are being renovated from the month when renovations start until the first full month after reopening.
For the four weeks ended April 28, total revenue dipped 0.7 percent to $17.7 million.
First-quarter revenue at stores open at least a year gained 1.8 percent, while total revenue rose 0.6 percent to $58.1 million.
