LIMA, Peru (AP) -- Peru's's government says the nation's economy is continuing to race ahead, rising by 6.92 percent in 2011.
The figure released Thursday by the national statistics agency continues 13 years of continuous growth, though it's a little less rapid than 2010's growth of 8.8 percent.
The agency says nearly all sectors improved, and exports hit a record of $46.3 billion.
The fishery sector grew by a whopping 29.7 percent.
While mining has driven growth in neighboring nations, output was nearly flat in Peru last year.
The government projects growth of 5.5 percent this year.
