Pfizer/Allergan merger talks; MGM to form REIT, Deutsche Bank's massive job cuts

Allergan (AGN) is reportedly in merger talks with Pfizer (PFE) in what could be the biggest takeover deal this year. A tie-up between two companies would create a drug giant worth over $300 billion dollars.

Deutsche Bank (DB) announced big changes after it posted a $6.6 billion dollar net loss for the third quarter. The company is scrapping its dividend, exiting 10 countries and slashing 35,000 jobs over the next two years as part of a major overhaul to help it return to profitability.

MasterCard (MA) posted better-than-expected earnings and revenue for the third quarter as consumers swiped their credits more for purchases. However, net income fell 3.7% from a year earlier, as operating expenses increased.

MGM Resorts (MGM) plans to form a publicly traded real estate investment trust that will be named MGM growth properties and will include 10 of its properties. The Las Vegas casino operator said the REIT would give it more flexibility and help increase shareholder value.

GoPro (GPRO) issued a weak outlook for the holiday quarter after the action camera maker reported a miss on both its top and bottom lines for the third quarter.  The company said its new smaller Hero-4 Session model didn't sell as well anticipated and a price cut in September also took a toll on revenue
