The session Chisvin chairs will explain and compare the different fabrics that can be used to connect microservers, addressing them in terms of performance, cost, flexibility, ecosystem, and familiarity. The panel -- featuring presentations from leading technology companies Calxeda, Fastor Systems, IDT, Magma, and Mellanox -- will help attendees understand the trade-offs among those fabrics that can be made for various applications.
Kazmi's presentation will highlight PCIe's rapid penetration in data-center and cloud storage environments currently the domain of the SAS and SATA storage interfaces. The NVMe session he presents at, focusing on the powerful combination of PCIe and solid-state drive (SSD) technologies, also will include presentations from Intel and SanDisk.
