Porsche North America's Bartsch going to Infiniti

Porsche North America head Bartsch leaving to head Nissan's Infiniti America's division

Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) -- Carmaker Porsche said Friday that executive Michael Bartsch is leaving the company, and Infiniti Motor Co. said Bartsch will take charge of its Americas division in September.

Porsche said Bartsch, 54, has been chief operating officer of the company's North American business since 2005. North America is Porsche's largest single market. In May, the company said he would take over operations in his home country of Australia as part of a series of management changes.

Infiniti said Ben Poore, who is currently in charge of its Americas business, is leaving to pursue other interests.

Joe Lawrence, the president and CEO of Porsche's Canadian business, will replace Bartsch as COO of its North American division on Sept. 1. That move was also announced in May.

Volkswagen AG bought Porsche about a year ago. Infiniti is the luxury unit of Nissan Motor Co.
