Powin Corporation Appoints Prominent Oregon Business Leader Jim Osterman to its Board of Directors

Powin Corporation (PWON) today announced it has appointed Jim Osterman, the former Chairman and CEO of Blount International, Inc., to its Board of Directors. Currently, Mr. Osterman is President of JSO Ventures, LLC, Oregon City, Oregon, a real estate investment and management consulting firm.

From 2002 to 2010, Mr. Osterman served as Chairman and CEO of Blount International, Inc., one of Oregon’s largest public companies. His long and distinguished career with the company also included roles as President of Blount’s Outdoor Product Group from 1986 to 2002; Senior Vice President of Marketing, Manufacturing and Engineering from 1979 to 1986; and Director of European Operations from 1968 to 1979. Mr. Osterman lived in Nivelles, Belgium for twelve years in that position.

In 1994, Mr. Osterman joined the Board of Directors of Cascade Corporation, another leading Oregon manufacturer, and served as the company’s Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2013.

Mr. Osterman attended Western Oregon University and the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. He has more than fifty years of worldwide international business experience beginning with Omark Industries, Inc. in 1959.
