NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 18, 2013) - Chad Michael Murray kicked off our Charity Awards Gala in November, and now PT is holding an online auction to benefit Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY), which provides a temporary "home-away-from-home" for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
It's not too late to donate and also to benefit from our added promotional opportunities. Below you will find the major companies that are donating -- and we are inviting you to do the same.
Nothing to donate? Then go online Monday and start bidding on some great items!
"We are in awe of the incredible work that RMH-NY is doing, and we are thrilled to be able to lend a hand in whatever way we can," said Adam Rodriguez, Executive Director at PT. "Our online auction is one way in which we can help our friends and clients give back to children in dire need of help."
The eBay-type auction will open for bidding on the PT website, premiertravelerusa.com, and run through April 3rd, 2013. All donations are tax-deductible and provide an excellent opportunity for corporate promotion and exposure.
"We often visit RMH-NY," offered PT Publisher Linda Vaughan. "There's nothing that touches your heart more than to recognize how much it means to families who are facing so many struggles and challenges. To have a 'home-away-from-home' like RMH-NY -- which both supports the entire family and provides fun and distractions for the kids -- is immeasurable. We appreciate all the donations we've received so far and all the ones to come, and we encourage all our readers to keep bidding. Everyone will be a winner!"
Examples of past donations have included pairs of round-trip tickets, hotel stays, an assortment of luggage and miscellaneous electronic devices.
"RMH-NY considers it a privilege to have been selected as the beneficiary of PT's auction," said William Sullivan, President and CEO of RMH-NY.
"Here, families find a warm, homelike atmosphere where they can laugh and cry together while offering each other support as they face the extremely difficult experience of dealing with a loved one's illness," added Sullivan. "We do not only cater to the children undergoing treatment -- we also treat parents and siblings as a first-rate priority. We want RMH-NY to be a home for the entire family."
Jake Porter, CEO at PT, urged generosity from friends and corporate donors: "Your donations will provide comfort and a safe haven to a brave group of children and their families. I challenge you to help us make this our biggest fundraising effort ever."
Premier Traveler is the ultimate source in travel information for frequent travelers who seek to enhance their travel experiences. The magazine has chosen RMH-NY as its signature charity and is putting forth extraordinary efforts toward making the auction an annual event that will encourage the travel industry -- and others -- to contribute to this most worthy of causes.
"Our subscribers are a dedicated niche group who really appreciate and hold in high regard companies that give back to the community," added Rodriguez. "Yes, they appreciate auctions and good deals, but they are loyal customers -- and potential customers -- This is a win win!"
