For the four-week period ended April 28, 2013 comparable sales for the 29 warehouse clubs open at least 13 1/2 full months increased 9.6%, compared to the four-week period last year. For the thirty-four week period ended April 28, 2013 comparable warehouse sales increased 8.8%, compared to the comparable thirty-four week period a year ago.
PriceSmart also announced that on May 3, 2013 the Company successfully opened its third warehouse club in Colombia. This warehouse club, located in the northern part of the city of Cali, its second warehouse club in Cali, brings to 31 the total number of warehouse clubs in operation by the Company.
PriceSmart, headquartered in San Diego, owns and operates U.S.-style membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean, selling high quality merchandise at low prices to PriceSmart members.
