NEW YORK (AP) -- PriceSmart Inc. said Monday that sales increased 11 percent to $185.3 million during the month of September.
The San Diego, Calif.-based company said that for the 29 warehouse clubs open at least 13 ½ months, sales rose 9.1 percent compared with the year-ago period. Sales in stores open at least a year is a key gauge of a retailer's health because it excludes the impact of locations that have recently opened or closed.
The company expects to report fiscal year results on Oct. 30.
PriceSmart owns and operates U.S. style membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
