Private equity firm buys Omaha trucking company

Eberhart Capital buying Omaha trucking firm that hauls refrigerated food, Poling Express

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A private equity firm is acquiring an Omaha trucking company that specializes in hauling refrigerated food as it works to build a national trucking firm.

Eberhart Capital said Tuesday that it is buying Poling Transportation and renaming the company Poling Express.

Eberhart said Poling will continue operating with the same management team and current 60 employees in Omaha. Eberhart said the company's employment could grow significantly in the years ahead.

Poling will work with the two other trucking firms Eberhart already owns: Twin Express in Rogers, Minn., and Golden Drop Trucking in Los Angeles.

The combined Eberhart trucking companies have a fleet of over 200 trucks and work with more than 200 owner-operator drivers.

Eberhart manages about $100 million in assets.
