ProPhotonix Adds 488nm OSRAM Laser Diode to Product Offerings
SALEM, NH--(Marketwired - Sep 15, 2014) - ProPhotonix Limited (PINKSHEETS: STKR) (LSE: PPIX) (LSE: PPIR), a designer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems, laser diode modules and a distributor of premium vendor's laser diodes, is pleased to announce an extension to its range of laser diodes, from its U.K. based laser business unit, ProPhotonix Limited, with the release of a new 488nm laser diode from Osram.
The PLT5-488 is a single mode device with an output power of 60mW. This diode offers both an in-built monitor photodiode for power regulation and an in-built zener diode for additional static discharge protection. The reliability and superior performance associated with Osram laser diodes makes this device ideal for challenging applications such as flow cytometry, medical diagnostics, DNA sequencing, bio-fluorescence and particle counting.
The PLT5-488 offers a competitive alternative to DPSS lasers and other laser diodes currently available at this wavelength. Commercial production is expected to commence within Q3 2014 with samples available for order now from ProPhotonix.
