Smart Phone Demand Drives Results
Qualcomm earned $0.89 a share in its fourth quarter on revenue of $4.87 billion. Analysts had expected $0.82 on revenue of $4.67 billion. Guidance was also strong, and QCOM is up almost 8 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Universal Display Plunges on Unexpected Loss
Universal Display reported a third-quarter loss of $0.12 a share, while analysts had expected profit of $0.05. Revenue of $12.5 million badly lagged the $18.87 million estimate. Management also lowered guidance. PANL is down 26 percent in early trading.
InterMune Loss, Revenue Better Than Expected
InterMune reported a third-quarter loss of $0.70 a share, better than the $0.84 loss feared by analysts. Revenue of $7.5 million also beat the $6.16 million estimate. ITMN rose 11 percent in the premarket.
Monster Beverage Misses Street Estimates
Monster Beverage earned just $0.47 a share, missing the $0.55 consensus estimate. Revenue of $541.9 million also missed the $578.5 million forecast. MNST drops 11 percent before the bell.
