Regional bank operator Umpqua Holdings boosts quarterly dividend by 2 cents to 9 cents

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Umpqua Holdings Corp., parent of a community bank that operates in the Pacific Northwest, said Tuesday that its board has approved a quarterly dividend of 9 cents per share, a 29 percent increase from the previous 7 cents.

The dividend will be paid July 13 to shareholders of record as of June 29.

Umpqua shares rose 12 cents to $12.01 in afternoon trading. That's down 13 percent from its 52-week high of $13.86 in late March.
