Retail gasoline prices slip 6 cents across Texas

AAA survey finds retail gasoline prices slip 6 cents across Texas this week

HOUSTON (AP) -- Retail gasoline prices across Texas have fallen 6 cents this week to settle at $3.39 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the statewide price at the pump compares to the national average of $3.51 per gallon.

The association survey found that Beaumont has the cheapest gasoline in Texas at $3.26 per gallon. Nearby Houston had the most expensive gasoline statewide this week at $3.43 per gallon.

AAA says retail gasoline prices across the country fell as refinery crews completed seasonal maintenance and ramped up their production. Crude oil prices also were sharply lower, and weak demand and signs of economic weakness also softened prices.
