PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen three cents ahead of the Labor Day weekend.
AAA Southern New England's survey released Monday found the average cost of a gallon of self-serve, regular is $3.72, down from $3.75 last week.
Prices in Rhode Island are down eight cents from a month ago. Still, the current price is 18 cents higher than the per-gallon national average of $3.54.
A year ago at this time Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.85 a gallon.
