PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island's economic development agency is coordinating a trade mission to Israel focusing on health care and life sciences.
State Health Department Director Michael Fine will lead the official state delegation on the trip scheduled for Nov. 8-16.
The Economic Development Corp. said Tuesday it is coordinating the trip with the state Department of Administration, Bryant University's Center for International Business, the consulate general of Israel to New England and others.
The agency led a trade mission to Israel in 2011 which it says generated over $5 million in export sales, academic partnerships and research agreements.
The EDC's executive director says Israeli health care and life science industries present a vast potential export market for Rhode Island.
It wasn't immediately clear how much the trip would cost the state.
