Several of Canada's largest media companies are developing subscription-based services to compete with online rivals such as Netflix (NFLX), reports the Globe and Mail. Rogers Communications (RCI), for one, is developing a service that would give subscribers access to movies and TV shows and is also considering developing TV series solely for digital distribution to enhance the product’s appeal.
