Ryland Offering New Homes on Higher Housing Demand

Home builders are having a good time since August when housing starts surged to an 8-month high. This indicates that momentum has started for new homes and builders are optimistic on their future sales too.

In keeping with this trend, Ryland Homes, Inc. (RYL) introduced new townhomes in Park Meridian in Indianapolis. The new townhomes with a price tag of $190s promise city-style convenience with suburban comfort.

The low-maintenance townhomes spread across 1,717 to 2,274 sq. ft. of living space and will feature 3 bedrooms, up to 3.5 baths and a 2-car garage. The residents can can enjoy approximity to world-class shopping centers, premium restaurants, fitness centers and entertainment options.

Like all new Ryland homes, these townhomes will have ENERGY STAR certified appliances, LoE windows and low VOC paint- which implies that homebuyers will enjoy low energy consumption.

Ryland, which carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) is aggressively opening new communities to meet the surge in demand for new homes. Last week, it opened eight luxurious communities of townhomes and single-family homes in the Philadelphia metro region. The communities — The Villages at Washington Square in Deptford, NJ, Hyett’s Crossing in Middletown, DE, Meridian Crossing in Bear, DE, Rivercrest in New Castle, DE, Somerton Valley in Trevose, PA, Mercer Court in Fairless Hills, PA, The Reserve at Rose Tree in Media, PA and Willowbrook at Moorestown, NJ — offer the convenience of city life as well as proximity to nature. Though interest rates have started increasing of late, they are below historical levels which makes housing affordable. In addition, accelerating job growth and increasing consumer confidence are boosting the demand for new homes. In order to cater to the increasing demand, homebuilders like Lennar Corp. (LEN), Pulte Group Inc. (PHM) and NVR Inc. (NVR) are investing heavily in building homes.
