SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire -06/20/12)- The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp., a non-profit dedicated to the region's economic prosperity and global competitiveness, released a report on the regional economic impact of Bridgepoint Education Inc. (BPI), a San Diego-based secondary education provider. The economic analysis, compiled by The London Group, determined that Bridgepoint Education's projected 10-year cumulative impact will bring approximately $10.8 billion in business output to the region.
As one of the region's largest private employers, the study analyzed both base and multiplier impact of many economic factors, including employment numbers, tax output, and occupied space. In a two-year span, Bridgepoint Education's regional GDP increased by more than 200 percent, from $285 million to $579 million.
