Sandy McIntyre appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sentry Investments Inc.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 24, 2012) - John F. Driscoll, Chairman and Director of Sentry Investments Inc. ("Sentry"), on behalf of the Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandy McIntyre to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. McIntyre will also continue in his role as President.

Since joining Sentry in 2000, Mr. McIntyre has been instrumental to the company's success. Under his guidance, Sentry was recognized as Canada's Best Equity Fund Family at the 2011 Lipper(1) Fund Awards. Sentry was also one of only five firms in 2011 to receive the prestigious Brendan Wood International TopGun Asset Management Team Award, after being one of only four to receive the honour in 2010. Mr. McIntyre, who has over 35 years experience in the financial services industry, was individually honoured with TopGun Portfolio Manager Awards from Brendan Wood International in 2009 and 2010.

Mr. Mitchell will also continue in his role as Senior Portfolio Manager. Since joining Sentry in 2005, Mr. Mitchell has been recognized as one of Canada's leading authorities in real estate investing. With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Mitchell is a three-time winner of the Brendan Wood International TopGun Portfolio Manager Award (2009, 2010, 2011) and was recognized in 2011 by Brendan Wood International as a TopGun Investment Mind in Worldwide Real Estate. Mr. Mitchell is lead manager of Sentry REIT Fund and Sentry Infrastructure Fund.
