The German business software maker said earnings dipped 5% to $2.1 bil, under expectations. Revenue rose 12% to $6.7 bil, below views. Software revenue climbed 22% in the Asia-Pacific and Japan division but sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa division only rose 8%. SAP (SAP) issued the results more than a week before scheduled. Shares fell 5.3%. Last month rival Oracle (ORCL) said it expects strong '13 sales after reporting a 17% rise in software revenue. Shares fell 0.7% to 34.70.
