MIAMI (AP) -- A Spanish-language media company operating 20 radio stations nationwide has a new chief operating officer.

The Spanish Broadcast System board unanimously agreed to appoint Albert Rodriguez to the post on May 10. The announcement was made Wednesday.

In a statement, SBS President Raul Alarcon said Rodriguez's track record and expertise made the board confident he will help the company grow.

Rodriguez previously served as the chief revenue officer for the company's consolidated operations and general manager of the Miami television market.

In addition to its radio stations, SBS owns and operates Mega TV. It serves the South Florida market and has national distribution through DirecTV.
