SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Sealand Natural Resources (SLNR), a new product development company which makes, markets and sells functional beverages such as Sealand BIRK, today announced that the company has retained Dash Advisors, LLC, a company known for propelling emerging beverage brands into the realm of super-stardom. “Dash will provide strategic guidance, long-range planning and critical marketing savvy. They will light our way through the complex US beverage market,” said Lars Poulsen, CEO, of SLNR.
What is Sealand BIRK?
A new entry in the health and vitality beverage category, Sealand BIRK is a beverage that is tapped from birch trees in early spring and imported from Denmark. Refreshing, and lightly sweet, it can be enjoyed as it tastes naturally, or blended with other fruit and floral flavors in the launch line: elderflower, raspberry, blueberry and ginger-lime. (All are gluten free and vegan.)
“The category is very crowded with 'me too' beverages but Sealand BIRK birch juice is truly different. It is sharply in line with what consumers are looking for now: healthful ingredients, minimal calories and sugar, and great flavor,” said Danny Rubenstein, co-founder of Dash Advisors. “We’ve helped many start-up beverage companies become successful over the past 30 years and we’re looking forward to being part of the Sealand BIRK team to do it again,” said Rubenstein.
Janet DiGiovanna, Dash Advisors co-founder and CMO, said: “I’m always looking for a beverage that offers consumers naturally occurring health-giving benefits. This one could quickly go from a nascent product to a full-blown category leader, innovator and first mover. This one has all the right stuff inclusive of a beautiful package. I’m proud to be a part of this team.”
Dash brings both strategic and granular approaches to pioneering new beverage brands to market. Critical areas are the need for more structure and strong systems. “The failure rate is huge in the food and beverage industry,” said DiGiovanna. “Our process minimizes that possibility.” Dash tackles issues such as the high cost of entry to market, quickly changing distribution models, tight margins, mainstreaming of organic products, and skills in out-maneuvering the lumbering food giants who attempt to enter the innovators’ space. “Our biggest gift to start-ups is that we significantly increase their chances for success,” said DiGiovanna.
