NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Joseph A. LoCicero, President and CEO of The Segal Company, announced that Kenneth C. Vieira and Richard Ward have joined Segal’s Public Sector Health Practice in Atlanta as Senior Vice Presidents and Consulting Actuaries. Mr. LoCicero said, “Ken and Richard add substantial talent and experience to an already-vibrant public sector health practice. While they are part of our East Region, they are also working to expand opportunities for us nationally. We are very pleased that they have joined our health team.”
Kenneth C. Vieira has more than 20 years of experience in health care, most recently as head of the Government Programs Health Actuarial Practice in Aon Hewitt’s Atlanta office. Mr. Vieira has worked extensively with state and other large governmental employers on state health plans, Medicaid programs and a broad range of actuarial issues. His experience includes packaging and pricing medical services, developing claims data reporting, utilizing risk management software, developing HMO rates and renewal support, and developing prospective payment systems. Mr. Vieira holds a B.S. in Software Engineering from Syracuse University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Richard Ward has more than 15 years of experience focusing on public sector health plans. Most recently, he was a Consultant for Aon Hewitt’s Atlanta office, where he managed several large government accounts. Mr. Ward has extensive experience in client and staff management, strategic benefits planning and business development. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from George Mason University. Mr. Ward is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
