LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A system of severe weather moved through multiple Midwest and Eastern states at the end of April. Damaging tornadoes, hail, severe winds and flooding were reported in multiple states. Farmers Insurance claims representatives, agents, other personnel and resources are engaged and helping customers who suffered damage from the storm system.
Farmers Chief Claims Officer Keith Daly emphasized that the Farmers claims team is ready and available to provide assistance to customers. More than 2200 customers have filed claims across 16 states that suffered from this severe weather. Farmers Insurance estimates that they will see more than 4700 claims at a cost of $50 million as a result of this event.
"Farmers Insurance claims staff make our customers their top priority and take pride in their ability quickly help them work through the claims handling process," Daly said. Farmers Insurance claims staff have already closed approximately 850 of the 2200 filed claims.
