SHANGHAI (AP) -- Lawyers say a Shanghai court has suspended proceedings in a lawsuit by a Chinese electronics maker against Apple Inc. over use of the iPad trademark in China.

A lawyer representing Shenzhen Proview Technology, Ma Dongxiao, says Thursday that the court stopped proceedings, citing a pending case on the trademark fight in a higher court.

The Guangdong High Court is due to hear an appeal by Apple on Feb. 29. against a lower court decision that favored Proview.

A lawyer for Apple likewise confirmed the Shanghai court decision.

Proview was seeking an injunction to stop Apple from selling iPads in Shanghai.

The companies are feuding over whether Proview sold the rights to the mainland Chinese iPad trademark to Apple in a deal in 2009.

    Weickbenie,
WRONG, USA is NOT able (and will not able) to make Apple's products ex. iphone not just low cost labor but technolody-intensive requirement. You have no knowlege at all. Apple has not technology (Apple only knows how to design and to market the products).
    FACT:
If FOXCONN boycut Apple by NOT making products, it will take Apple 10 years to figure how to make these products given the large cash it has.

Idiot, if Apple knows how to make these advanced products, it already made in USA
The cost is almost close. Making iphone in China is NOT CHEAP (almost $500 per phone).
Idiot, learn some fact before you write.

If you actually believe that the technical know-how to build an iPhone doesn't exist in America, you're an idiot and there's no point in talking with you.

Assuming you are just mischievous troll, I'll point out that no one knows exactly the manufacturing cost of an iPhone, but it is between the commonly quoted $8 and $40. The first is likely too low. $40 is the theoretical maximum, assuming that every minute of the 24 hours it takes to build one someone is working directly on it, and so is high.

The BOM (bill of materials, cost of parts) for and iPhone is $188, but that would be the same whether it is manufactured in the US or China.
