Banking on improved networking solutions, the new technology supports Internet video, online gaming and offers broad coverage with fewer dead spots.
Broadcom is focused on innovating technologies related to connectivity, bandwidth and content, which enable it to capture a sizeable market share. The 5G WiFi technology is relatively better in comparison to the current 802.11n standard, due to which it is increasing in popularity and usage. It is expected that approximately half of the smartphones shipped by 2014 will be 802.11ac enabled.
