After the federal government launched two inquiries into Royal Dutch Shell’s (RDS.A) Arctic drilling program in the wake of the company's difficulties in the region, Shell is considering making major changes to its Arctic operations, company officials say, according to The New York Times. Meanwhile, the federal government could respond to Shell's problems in the Arctic by imposing a drilling moratorium on the region, the newspaper reported, citing statements by energy specialists and outside advisers to the interior secretary.
