OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2013) - Sidense Corp., a leading developer of Logic Non-Volatile Memory (LNVM) OTP IP cores, today announced that Sigma Designs®, a leading provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for converging multimedia delivery of home entertainment, home control, and connectivity, has selected Sidense 1T-Fuse™-based 1T-OTP memory IP for use in their next generation DTV and home entertainment product lines.
Sigma Designs has signed a multi-year license to use the Sidense's SHF OTP macros. Designed by Sidense for advanced processes from 40nm down to 16nm FinFET technology, Sigma Designs will use SHF in a 40nm implementation, which has already been qualified in G and low-power/low-leakage variants, for set-top box and digital TV applications.

Sidense SHF One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory IP is based on a patented 1T-Fuse™ (antifuse) bit-cell. The 1T-Fuse bit-cell uses gate oxide breakdown as a robust, non-reversible programming mechanism. Optimized for high-performance and a wide range of bit densities, Sidense SHF macros are available for standard CMOS processes with no requirements for any additional masks or processing steps.
Sidense SHF memory IP is provided as a complete, non-volatile memory subsystem providing interfaces and features to support a range of embedded SoC applications. The SHF module integrates the OTP memory and Integrated Power Supply (IPS) hard macro blocks along with program control, programming and test interface, error correction and Built-In Self -Test (BIST) RTL. SHF applications include: code storage, ROM replacement, secure encryption key storage, configuration, fuse replacement, trimming and calibration.
